AIVI Intelligent Environments for Independent Living

AIVI is a TRACTOR project funded by The Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade of Spain whose main objective is to promote a qualitative advance on the arrival of Ambient Intelligence services to home, targeting dependent people (elderly and disabled), aiming to increase the amount of time that persons can remain on their homes, performing usual daily activities autonomously or assisted by relatives or carers, in such a case ambient intelligence is a valuable support.This project covers several knowledge areas related to the design and deployment of Ambient Intelligence systems on their homes: architectural issues, building and equipment techniques, sensor networks, telecare services, etc. Moreover, there was collaboration with user associations and dependent people supporting organizations that prioritize research lines, validate services and applications developed, and give advice on ethical issues raised on the project.
